Jolly Josh launches £50 New Year challenge

Date published: 20 January 2022

Rochdale-based charity Jolly Josh will launch its £50 New Year challenge next week.

The charity, which was started in September 2017 by Carole and James Kelly, of Wardle, hosts stay-and-play sessions for children with disabilities and special needs after they discovered there were no groups for young disabled children in Rochdale.

The charity takes its name from Carole and James’ son Josh, who was born with Mitochondrial disease before sadly dying a month before his legacy was due to begin.

The new year challenge calls for businesses and teams to turn a £50 loan into as much money as possible in 12 weeks between 25 January and 25 April.

The team or business to raise the most money for the charity in the 12 weeks will be named as the 2022 Jolly Josh challenge champion.

Jolly Josh suggests activities such as bake sales, raffles and quiz nights in order to raise funds.

Anyone interested in entering the challenge should email sarah@jollyjosh.co.uk or phone 07775 478222.
