Award-winning social enterprise aims to expand lunch club programme

An award-winning social enterprise which works to reduce social isolation and loneliness amongst older people is aiming to expand its lunch club programme.

HMR Circle is aiming to raise £2,000 to grow its lunch club-clubs scheme to be a Monday-Friday operation across Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.

Director Mark Wynn said: “At Circle we are regularly asked about having more of our successful Lunch Club-Clubs in new locations or having the Dinner Driver meals delivered to more areas.

“Our friends at Zen are currently undertaking a sponsored walk of Hadrian’s Wall with some of the walkers already pledging monies raised to our ‘grow the circle campaign’, a crowdfunding idea where we aim to get lots of small contributions to the cause and with all things lots of small actions add up to big results.”

A new member of staff has already been recruited to enable this vision, but additional kitchen equipment is needed, including mixers, fridges, pots, pans, cutlery and other catering paraphernalia.

Donations can be made via Crowdfunder.
