Woman dies after Blackstone Edge collision

A woman has died after a collision on Halifax Road at Blackstone Edge on Friday night (22 July).
Police said the collision involved a black Audi A3 at around 11.37pm.
The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was shut in both directions between the Pennine Way and Turvin Road.
A spokesperson for the police said: “Her next of kin has been informed and an investigation is underway.
“Anyone with information or dash cam footage relating to this incident should contact police via 0161 856 4741 or www.gmp.police.uk quoting 3793 of 22/07/22.
“Information can also be shared anonymously via the independent charity – Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
