Police arrested two men
A 20-year-old man has been hospitalised following an attack in Middleton town centre.
Two men, aged 20 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a 20-year-old man was injured in Middleton town centre on Saturday 10 August.
The man sustained a wound that required stitches. The incident began with a confrontation between a group of people outside a shop in Middleton town centre, approximately 30 minutes before police received reports of an assault at 8.52am.
The two arrested men are currently in police custody.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a serious assault in Middleton town centre this morning.
“A 20-year-old male victim was taken to hospital for injuries which are not life-threatening.
"Two men aged 20 and 26 have been arrested on suspicion of assault. They remain in police custody."
