The offences ranged from drivers and passengers failing to wear seatbelts, the use of mobile phones while driving, and one instance of a child not being properly restrained with a seatbelt.

In addition, multiple drivers were found to be operating vehicles without insurance.

As part of the operation, four vehicles were seized, and further penalties were issued for vehicles displaying non-conforming registration plates.

A police spokesperson said: “This operation highlights our commitment to road safety and reducing the number of traffic offences in Rochdale.

"Ensuring drivers and passengers comply with the law is crucial in preventing accidents and protecting all road users.”

Local residents have been reminded to always follow traffic regulations and ensure their vehicles meet legal standards to avoid fines and vehicle seizures in future operations.
