Middleton band to rock Arena in 10-year anniversary celebrations

Date published: 05 October 2024

The MiddleTones are gearing up for a special night of music as they celebrate their 10th anniversary with a concert at Middleton Arena on Saturday 9 November. The band, which has its roots in Middleton, has seen ticket sales exceed expectations, with fewer than 100 tickets remaining for the 700-capacity event.

All seating tickets, totalling 175, have already sold out, and only standing tickets are still available.

The anniversary gig promises to be a night to remember, with The MiddleTones being joined by two local support acts, The Kaiden Nolan Band and Max Moore, both of whom have previously performed with the group.

Max and Kaiden, also from Middleton, have stepped in on guitar, bass, and vocals for The MiddleTones over the years, adding a personal touch to the evening. Additionally, DJ Joe, a long-time friend of the band, will keep the crowd entertained between sets.

In anticipation of the event, The MiddleTones have hinted at some surprises in store for their fans. "We have a few surprises up our sleeves that promise to make it an amazing night," the band shared.

The MiddleTones, a four-piece cover band from Manchester, have built a reputation for delivering high-energy performances of indie classics.

Their setlist includes hits from iconic bands such as Oasis, Stone Roses, James, The Courteeners, and Arctic Monkeys, among many others. Formed in 2014 for what was meant to be a one-off charity gig, the group has since gone on to perform over 200 shows across England and Wales.

Reflecting on their origins, the band shared a Facebook post last year recounting how it all began. "Nine years ago at a St Peter’s PTA meeting, we were trying to find artists to play at an event.

"We couldn’t find anyone within our budget, so someone suggested we put together a band for a one-off event. And so, the midlife crisis began!" The original line-up for The MiddleTones featured Andrew Callaghan, Danny Callaghan, Mike Carty, and Ritchie Carr, with their first gig taking place at Oktoberfest 2014 in St Peter’s Church Hall.

Today, The MiddleTones consist of Andy Callaghan (lead vocals and guitar), Danny Callaghan (bass), Mike Carty (drums and backing vocals), and the most recent addition, Danny Yates (guitar), who joined in 2021. The group is known for their passion for indie rock and their ability to engage audiences, making every event special.

Speaking about the upcoming concert, the band expressed their excitement: "We wanted to do something big to celebrate 10 years, seeing as most bands don’t last that long, especially midlife crisis bands!"

With tickets priced at just £15, the band is encouraging friends, family, and fans to come along and join the celebration.

In addition to the performances from The Kaiden Nolan Band and Max Moore, the band has extended invitations to former members and special guests who have been part of their journey, including Ritchie Carr, Paul Carroll, Phil Tomlinson, and Kev Tomlinson.

Tickets for the 10-year anniversary concert are available now, but are selling fast. "Tell your friends, family, and everyone you know to help us celebrate and thank everyone who has helped and supported us along the way," the band urged in their announcement.
