Andy Lavery was surprised but over the moon to receive his award
A Rochdale coach specialising in helping those over 40 achieve their health and fitness goals has been named Coach of the Year at the Rochdale Active Awards.
Andy Lavery, founder of Trident Health and Performance, was recognised for his dedication to improving the lives of his clients through tailored training, nutrition, recovery, and lifestyle programmes.
The Rochdale Active Awards, formerly known as the Rochdale Borough Sports Awards, celebrate individuals and organisations who have made exceptional contributions to sport, physical activity, and promoting healthy lifestyles within the local community.
The coveted Coach of the Year title is awarded to a coach who has made a significant impact on individuals or teams in the borough over the past 12 months, demonstrating both dedication and excellence.
Andy said he was humbled by the recognition: “Obviously, I didn’t get into this line of work to win awards. I’m rewarded every day by being able to help people achieve their goals. But I have to say, it was a lovely surprise.”
The Trident Health and Performance coach, who works from premises in Heywood and Rochdale, focuses on providing high-quality coaching for those aged 40 and over. Andy’s approach combines a deep understanding of fitness with a passion for empowering people to live healthier and more confident lives.
“I was over the moon to be recognised as Coach of the Year because it shows the work we’re doing is making a difference,” he said.
Originally operating under the name Apocalypse Training Systems, Andy rebranded to Trident Health and Performance to reflect his comprehensive approach to health and wellbeing. His clients benefit from personalised training plans that address their unique needs, ensuring long-term success in their fitness journeys.
Local residents have praised Andy’s commitment to his clients and the community.
Jackie Knox said: “I can get up without the sound effects. I can crawl around with my grandson on my back. I can pick him up and swing him around, in a nice way!”
Another client Claire Carter said that working with Andy is one of the best decisions she’s ever made.
The Rochdale Active Awards serve as a reminder of the incredible impact individuals like Andy Lavery have on their communities, inspiring others to lead healthier, more active lives.
