Premiership

Austerlands showing improved form have moved off the bottom of the table to 9th, and had a well-deserved win over Crompton. Austerlands 137 for 5 v Crompton 135, Shanuka Dulaj 81 not out Adrian Morrison 5 for 55 and Lee Milner 4 for 49.

Norden chasing a reduced target score reached 143 for 5 in defeating Greenfield who were dismissed for 167.

Rochdale scored heavily when facing local rivals Littleborough. Ben Chapman hitting 140 in their total of 330 for 6. Littleborough had a daunting task in a rain reduced game needing to get 286 from 30 overs. They made no effort, and Clinton Perren ground out a painstaking 57 not out from 124 balls as they closed on 95 for 4.

Another very poor batting performance by Saddleworth ensured victory for Monton and Weaste. The home side batted first and could not cope with Josh Lenihan who took 5 for 20 as Saddleworth were dismissed for only 57. Monton did lose 5 wickets in chasing down the score.

In the game between last season’s two promoted teams from the Championship. Stayley came out on top. Bowling Heyside out for 161 they replied with 162 for 6.

Walsden had a 10 wicket win over next to bottom Glodwick who batted first and made 158 all out, with Walsden pro Umesh Karunaratne taking 5 for 20. After two rain interruptions Walsden needed 123 as revised score and achieved this without loss. Jake Hooson 59 not out and Josh gale 58 not out.

At this stage of the season Norden head the table with 28 points and Walsden are second one point behind with Rochdale in third place. Saddleworth are bottom of the table with only 3 points.

Championship


Bottom of the table Ashton lost to Shaw. After batting first Ashton were all out for 103 with Tharshan Thayalan taking 6 for 47. Shaw replying with 107 for 6.

Friarmere 139 for 8 accounted for Hollinwood 136 all out and Micklehurst suffered a heavy defeat at home to Royton. The visitors racked up 368 for 6 with two centurions. James Maurice Scott 117 and Chirag Khuran 121 before Micklehurst could only reply with 90.

League leaders Middleton had 4 wickets win at home to Moorside. After bowling out their visitors for 162. Chris Williams hit 62 in Middletons reply of 169 for 6.

Milnrow totalled 234 for 6 at home to Oldham. Saeed Anwar Jnr was another centurion with 127. For Oldham, Malik usman made 73 as htey were all out for 188.

Wermeth hit 201 when they faced Uppermill who fell just short in reply at 186 with pro Ayaz Tasawar being responsible for the bulk of the runs with his 126.

Middleton lead the table with 32 points from Shaw with 27 and Milnrow third on 25 points.
