The 16-year-old Heywood protégé has been picked in an English Schools Cricket Association team to play the MCC at Under-16s level in a one-day 50 overs game at the home of cricket on Wednesday, 30 August at 11.00am.

The honour comes on the recommendation of the England Development Programme coaches, and maintains his significant progress during 2017.

Morley had a successful tour of Sri Lanka as part of a Bunbury/ECB Under-16 side in March, and has been fast-tracked into the Lancashire Academy Under-17 set-up.

He featured in the county team which recently reached the ECB Under-17s one-day cup final, only for the side to fall at the last hurdle against Middlesex at Kibworth in Leicestershire.

He said: “The past 12 months have been like a whirlwind and to get the chance to play at Lord's is the pinnacle so far.”
