Cricket: Norden pick up the points in a forgettable match at Glodwick

Date published: 14 August 2017

Norden picked up four points from their 30 over per side match against Glodwick at Stag Park on Saturday.

Glodwick took first knock and were soon in trouble. Brad Heap smacked Chris Humphreys for four, but next delivery he was caught at long off by Harvey Fitton.

Nigel Stock added one before he was caught behind by Ash Gowers, then Farukh Shaghir was bowled by Malik following a stand with Rehan Rafique which had taken the total up to 58.

Franco Lenhardt was bowled off stump by Simon North, then Steve Pimm, guilty of a drop, took a brilliant catch to see of Rafique for 21.

Wickets continued to fall, but Glodwick reached 109 for eight, mainly due to an unbeaten 29 from Mahmood Ul-Hassan who was intent on going for every delivery.

Norden's reply was somewhat sluggish but effective.

Harvey Fitton was bowled without scoring, but Josh Tolley (54 not out including two sixes), Dominic Humphreys (24, one six) and Ash Gowers (22 not out) eased Stags home with 11 deliveries to spar.

All-in-all it was an easily forgettable match.
