Football: Back to league action for Dale as Fleetwood visit the Crown Oil Arena - POSTPONED

Date published: 10 February 2018

It is back to League One action for Rochdale, with Fleetwood Town the visitors to the Crown Oil Arena.

Dale go into the game off back-to-back victories, whilst Fleetwood have lost their last five in all competitions.

Manager Keith Hill has praised the Dale players' “siege mentality” ahead of the game. He said: “We have got a lot to challenge for this season.

“Our season is not just about the Tottenham game, it is about making sure that we make the most of our opportunities in the League One campaign to make sure we give ourselves the best chance of avoiding relegation.

“It seems unlikely at this moment in time, but there is a real fighting spirit amongst the players and that is where the unity will give us our best opportunity of surviving.

“The spirit is good. There is also a siege mentality amongst the players and the group but the group have got to keep responding to the challenges. We have got no bigger challenge than this weekend’s game against Fleetwood.”

Fleetwood manager Uwe Rosler said: “Keith Hill’s teams are always energetic, they play on the front foot. I think they have had two good results – one in the cup and one against Northampton – they will start the game with 100% energy, power, determination and desire, and we need to be ready for that aggression. We need to counter that with our way of football.

“I think the game will be decided in the heads, and physically we are more than ready, it is just how we cope with that stress factor which they will try to put on us.”

The game earlier this season ended 2-2 at Highbury Stadium, with Devante Cole’s late equaliser grabbing a point for ten-man Fleetwood.
