Rugby League: Mayfield hope to progress to Standard Cup Final

Mayfield will be looking to put right the mistakes they made last week against Normanton when they take on Saddleworth Rangers in the Oldham Standard Cup at the Mayfield Sports Cente on Saturday.
Saddleworth play in Division Two of the Kingstone Press NCL and finished mid table last season.
This year though they look like they mean business after losing out narrowly in the challenge cup to last year’s NCL grand final winners Thatto Heath.
They have a crop of good youngsters come through the ranks and, like Mayfield, are looking to blood them this season.
Mayfield will once again call upon the youth in their attempt to reach the final of this competition and get a chance to retain the trophy they won last year against St Anne's.
The disappointment and the nature of last week’s defeat mean that Calland and Butterworth will be pulling out all the stops to make sure they win this one.
Fixture
17 February
Standard Cup Semi-Final
Mayfield v Saddleworth
Kick Off: 2.00pm
