Skiing: Daisi Daniels crowned Independent Schools Skiing Champion

Date published: 04 May 2018

Rochdale’s skiing sensation Daisi Daniels has been crowned the Independent School Association skiing champion at Hemel Hempstead.

Daisi, from Whitworth, took part in the Championships on Monday 30 April.

Daisi, in the under 18s age category, put in two excellent runs to win her age group with her fastest time of (12.38).

Representing Beech House School, the teenager took part in the race, which saw over 300 racers from over 25 schools attend from all over Great Britain.

The race takes part over two runs of Slalom at the Indoor Snow Centre on the same course, with the fastest time counting.

The three second margin was more than enough for Daisi to take first place over South Hampstead High School’s Noa Tydeman (15.49) and Lady Eleannor Holles School’s Auriel Beveredge (16.79), who placed second and third, respectively.

Daisi, who took time away from studying for her GCSEs, says she is pleased with the win to take back to her school.
