Cricket: Heywood Cricket Club teams for the weekend

Date published: 04 July 2018

Heywood are hopeful of the welcome return of Simon Dawson to first team action for Saturday’s visit to champions and current Greater Manchester Premier League leaders Flixton.

Cricket chairman Roger Smethurst said: “At the time of writing, we are awaiting confirmation that his return, after a brief period at Middleton, has been sanctioned by the League Management Committee.

“Simon’s comeback is a welcome boost to the senior side and comes on the back of two wins last weekend.

“However, after the incident in the Cup game last Sunday, Heywood will be without Andy Kerr for the next two weekends after the Cricket Committee made the decision not to select him in line with League rules.”
