Heywood’s Thirds were crushed by 193 runs at Egerton in their latest outing.
A third wicket partnership of 202 between A Hamnett, who made a blistering unbeaten 170, and A Patel, 60, saw Egerton rack up an imposing 286-3 from their 40 overs.
Heywood succumbed to 93 all out in just 23.1 overs.
There was no way back after slumping to 23-5, and it was left to Tom Sullivan (31), Dan Joesbury (18) and Smethurst (13) to save further embarrassment.
