Cricket: Heywood teams for the weekend

Heywood welcome back Jack Morley to first team action on Saturday after his recent Lancashire commitments.

The 17-year-old all-rounder features in the side which hosts Egerton, with Heywood needing to start racking up some points as they bid to preserve their Greater Manchester Premier League status.

The second team, back on top of Division Four East, also have a key game the same day when they travel to fourth-placed Moorside, the Oldham area club.

There is action at Crimble on Sunday, when the third team face Woodbank.

  • Heywood First XI (versus Egerton, home, Saturday, 1pm): T Townsend (capt), R Cross, R Paterson, D Pawson, J Morley, S Burrill, M Witts, W Hunt, A Dawson, S Dawson, T McQuinn.
  • Heywood Second XI (versus Moorside, away, Saturday, 1.30pm): M Grogan (capt), S Evans, R Bennett, C Booth, C Kaye, J Mills, L Clarkson, C Hilton, J Kaye, W Taylor, T Pagett.
  • Heywood Third XI (versus Woodbank, home, Sunday, 2pm): R Smethurst (capt), M Hood, R Purser, S Byrne, J Carter, L Forshaw, T Pagett, J Kaye, K Brennan, L Jackson, D Josebury.
