Rugby Union: Littleborough U15s 14 – 5 Manchester U15s

Date published: 16 January 2019

Nine points from fly half Jack Bennetta ensured Littleborough Under 15s continued their perfect start to 2019 with victory over Manchester RUFC U15s.

In a low scoring contest due in the main part to the atrocious conditions at a wet and windy Rakewood, Littleborough utilised home advantage to score two tries and secure a 14-5 victory to advance to the next round of the cup.

By scoring and converting the opening try, fly half Bennetta drove his team mates on and give them a margin of victory that the visitors would never recover from.

Even when Manchester responded with an unconverted try of their own, they would never get any closer than the two points they found themselves behind.

Home side Littleborough were given some breathing space when Thomas Mills scored a try. The young and strapping forward capped off a fine week along with Jack Bennetta as they were selected for the Sale Shark academy under 15s SDG programme.

Bennetta's conversion took Littleborough nine points clear and allowed them freedom and confidence to dominate and dictate the closing stages.
