Cricket: Heywood teams for the weekend

Another busy schedule will make Crimble a hive of activity again at the weekend.

Heywood Monkeys host Greenfield Thunder on Friday night (31 May) in the third match of their Marston’s T20 campaign, having one won and lost one in the group.

The following day the senior side entertain Brooksbottom hoping to make it three victories in succession in Division 1A of the Greater Manchester League.

The 2nd XI, meanwhile, have a double assignment. They travel to Denton on Saturday (1 June) for their latest match in Division 3 East, and on Sunday (2 June) they face a  first round 2nd XI Premier Cup-tie at home to Dukinfield.

  • Heywood Monkeys (v Greenfield Thunder, home, Friday, 6pm): M Grogan (capt), W Hunt, J Kettleborough, S Dawson, M Witts, S Evans, T Sullivan, W Taylor, T Pagett, C Hilton, F Iqbal.
  • Heywood 1st XI (v Brooksbottom, home, Saturday, 1pm): R Cross (capt), M Grogan, J Kettleborough, J Morley, S Dawson, D Fawcett, M Witts, J Kaye, C Hilton, T Pagett, F Iqbal.
  • Heywood 2nd XI (v Denton, away, Saturday, 1.30pm): S Evans (capt), C Booth, R Bennett, L Grogan, J Mills, Z Baig, W Taylor, L Clarkson, T Sullivan, R Purser, J Keyworth. Reserve: A Russell.
  • Heywood 2nd XI (v Dukinfield, home, 2nd X1 Premier Cup, Sunday, 1pm): J Kaye, C Kaye, M Witts and J O’Neill replace J Keyworth, T Sullivan, R Purser and Z Baig in above team.
