Football: Fothergill & Whittles complete league double

Fothergill & Whittles FC first and second teams have finished top of Division 2 and Reserve Division 2 in the Huddersfield and District Football League this season.

First Team Manager Derek Dunn said: “This season has been brilliant; I just want to give all the lads a big hi-five; next year though we have a lot to do as we will be both competing in both top divisions.”

Chairman Mickey Hudson said: “Fantastic effort yet again from everyone at the club.

Ben Jorgensen from Fothergill & Whittles FC said: “We joined the Huddersfield League three years ago, starting at the bottom of both first team leagues and reserve team leagues.

“This year we won both of our respective leagues.

“We are delighted with our achievements so far in the Huddersfield and District Football League.

“Our first team have been league champions twice, cup champions once, and been promoted three times and the second team have been league champions three years running and been promoted three times.”
