Cricket: Heywood teams for the weekend – weather permitting

Heywood Cricket Club‘s playing resources are being stretched to the limit, weather permitting, for a hectic schedule of six matches in four days.

Heywood Monkeys are scheduled to be in T20 action tonight (Friday 14 June) at home to Royton in the fifth match of their Marston’s T20 group.

The senior side have a home date on Saturday 15 June against Uppermill in Division 1A of the Greater Manchester League.

The second team face a double-header, starting with a trip to Flowery Field on Saturday for a Division 3 East fixture. The following day they are on the road again, this time at Astley and Tyldesley, in the second round of the Sunday Premier Cup.

The third team also face a Sunday outing, at Denton, in the first round of the Plate.

  • Heywood 2nd X1 (v Flowery Field, away, Saturday, 1.30pm): S Evans (capt), C Kaye, L Grogan, L Clarkson, R Bennett, J Mills, Z Baig, R Smethurst, O Thomas, J Keyworth, W Taylor.
  • Heywood 2nd X1 (v Astley and Tyldesley, away, Sunday, Premier Cup 2nd rnd, 1pm): S Evans (capt), M Witts, C Booth, L Clarkson, C Kaye, R Bennett, L Grogan, J Kaye, T Pagett, C Hilton, J Mills.
