Karate: Lucia is in the black
Date published: 01 August 2019
Lucia Walter, black belt 1st Dan
Lucia Walter achieved her black belt 1st Dan at The DOJO Karate Centre on Castlemere Street, Rochdale on Sunday 28 July under Sensei Irfan Ansari (7th Dan).
Lucia, 11, is also on the Team Dojo World Champions Program and is the current world medal holder. Lucia will also be representing GB in the forthcoming World Games in late October in London this year.
Sensei Ansari said: "Lucia is an outstanding student. Her diligence is amazing. I can show her something to practice and tell her to get on with, and she just keeps going until I correct her slightly to improve her performance.
"She is clever and a switched-on kid - one of a few that you come across now and then and a pleasure to coach. I'm really pleased of her achievement and if she sticks to it, I think she will become a good coach in time to come."
