Football: Ian Henderson wins Ladbrokes Northwest Football Award

Rochdale’s Ian Henderson has been named the League One Player of the Season in the Ladbrokes Northwest Football Awards 2019.
Rochdale’s top goal scorer and captain Henderson, 34, beat off stiff competition from Accrington Stanley’s Sean McConville, Blackburn’s Curtis Tilt and Fleetwood’s Wes Burns.
Henderson, who joined Rochdale in 2013, scored 21 goals in all competitions in 49 appearances last season including a hat-trick against Gillingham in September 2018. The striker has been Dale's top scorer for the past five seasons.
He was presented with the accolade on Monday 11 November at Lancashire County Cricket Club.
The award is the second in under a week for the striker, who was named Sky Bet’s League One Player of the Month on Friday 8 November.
