New veterans football club for local ex-servicemen

Date published: 07 February 2020

A new football session for the military veterans of Rochdale begins this Friday evening (7 February).

The session is open to all ex-servicemen and is free of charge to take part in.

Fully affiliated by Rochdale AFC and Dale In The Community Sports Trust, the sessions will take place on Fridays at the Soccer Factory in Rochdale, between 7-8pm.

They will take place every week and all you need to do is turn up.

Volunteer Adam Trennery, who is helping organise the sessions, said: “I am ex-Royal Navy and live in Rochdale, I was playing for Curzon Ashton military vets but noticed Rochdale didn't have a team and as I'm local, it makes sense to give it a go.

“All abilities are welcome. As long as you have a service number, you are more than welcome.”
