Rochdale Hornets Ladies team 2021
The Ladies were back in action after a three week break over the weekend against Dewsbury Moor at Mayfield Sports Centre.
It was very hot at Mayfield and there was no place to hide. The game started well for Hornets, the play was controlled and nearing 100% completion, all while forcing errors from Dewsbury.
The pressure was telling and Dewsbury were rattled. Unfortunately white line fever entered the camp and Hornets couldn’t force their way over the line.
Captain Claire Collins forced error after error with fantastic kick-offs, the only thing left to do was get over the line and get that confidence boosting first score.
Half-time arrived with a score of 0-18 to Dewsbury.
In the second half, the heat began to take its toll. Errors started creeping into the game and it was to prove costly with Hornets conceding another 40 unanswered points. It was a tough day at the office, but Hornets go again next versus Featherstone.
