Rochdale Hornets have announced the return of their wheelchair rugby team for 2022.
The rugby league side begin their Betfred Championship North season against Sheffield Eagles on 27 March and are currently looking to recruit over-16 players of all abilities.
Wheelchair rugby league aims to replicate the running game of rugby league, with a number of modifications to ensure that it can include any participants who are physically disabled or non-disabled.
Head of the programme Carl Abraham said: “The club are working closely alongside various disability and inclusion groups within the town and are planning on conducting taster sessions that will provide an opportunity for us to have a wider reach in the hope of attracting more players into the club.”
Anyone interested in joining should attend the weekly sessions, which take place at Rochdale Leisure Centre on Tuesday evenings between 7-8pm.
