Members from Hollingworth Lake Rowing Club (HLRC) attended the York Spring Regatta on 30 April.
This is an early season regatta, raced over 1,000m on the River Ouse.
Out of 12 entries HLRC had five wins:
- Mixed Mas. C/D2x - Martin Barnes, Julie Miller
- Mas C1x - Alex Barnett
- Mas D/E/F 1x - Tim Booth
- Mas C/D/E 4x - Tim Booth, Alex Barnett, Paul Clay, Keith Lawton
- Masters F/G 2x - Keith Lawton, Paul Clay
HLRC had good results across the Masters men, showing good strength in depth in Masters sculling in the northwest.
Junior men Sam Harrage and George Tisdall in the coxless pair – the technically most challenging boat – had a good race. They did not advance to the final because they came against much older competition that came from a group of GB Olympic hopefuls.
Joe Harrage who made his coxing debut at the regatta steered an excellent course.
