I am pleased to be standing to represent Norden in this year's local elections.
I was a Councillor for 20 years previously representing Milnrow and Newhey.
I was formerly Cabinet Member for Skills and Employment.
I was proud to represent Rochdale as your Mayor 2009 / 10 where we raised £17,500 for youth music projects in our Borough.
I'll bring experience and passion to the role just like I have always done.
Everyone who knows me, knows I'm passionate about the arts.
The Lib Dems aim to make the Borough a beacon for the creative industries.
Rochdale is the biggest town in Britain without a theatre - we will change this and work to give our town the facilities it deserves.
We will pioneer tax breaks for individuals and small companies involved in the arts and the creative and cultural sectors.
We will create a hub for creative industries and encourage them by removing small business rates.
We will focus on arts and heritage to regenerate our town centre.
In recent years, Norden been a swing seat between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives.
This year will be no different.
