Shaun O'Neill

Shaun O'Neill

Labour and Co-operative Party
Healey Ward

After being postponed last May due to Covid 19, Local Council Elections are back on Thursday 6 May 2021.

Shaun O’Neill has been re-selected to stand for Labour and Co-operative in Healey this coming May.

Shaun was born in Rochdale. He attended St. Gabriel’s and Rochdale Technical School.

He has lived here all his life (apart from 5 years spent serving in the Royal Engineers in other parts of the world).

He then worked 29 years as a firefighter here in Rochdale and has lived with his family in Shawclough for the last 25 years.

Shaun says: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to represent local residents here in Healey, Syke and Shawclough. One of the most satisfying aspects of the job as your local councillor is to listen to your views and concerns and to then take action. Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big difference.”

Shaun’s priorities for Healey:

  • Promote measures to prevent climate change
  • Continue to improve road safety and highway maintenance
  • Encourage more recycling
  • Combat anti-social behaviour and continue to tackle fly-tipping
  • Improve our green spaces including Healey Dell, St Wilfred’s Fields and Cronkeyshaw Common
  • Hold weekly surgeries every Thursday at the Syke Chapel, 1pm-2pm
