I'm Pete Diestler a Bamford resident who has lived in the local area for almost twenty years. I’m retired now but have done a variety of jobs including being a chef and a Bus driver. I know how to put in a shift.
As we begin to rebuild after the pandemic there are a number of things I want to put right. In recent years I’ve seen a sharp increase in inconsiderate parking around the Bury Rd shopping area. The shops have no parking spaces of their own and rely on the goodwill of the residents to tolerate the shop associated traffic,noise, pollution and litter. We want the businesses to thrive and to have spaces for their customers, disabled parking bays and loading bays for supplies.
Currently pedestrians are forced into the busy roadway due to the parking chaos!
Help me put many wrongs right!
The local Tory councillors don't see any problems in the area. Shop parking is an investment in the businesses and the area, making Bamford a better place to live, work and walk in. It should be entirely possible to maintain a both local business and a cleaner, greener environment.
Caused partly due to the increased sales of puppies during lockdown we now have a huge increase of dog walkers using the track at Chadwick hall rd to exercise the dogs. Problem is that the excrement collected in plastic bags along the journey is discarded along the track, out of sight in a sense. I placed and empty a bin regularly at the entrance which has proved worthwhile. If this is happening on my street then it’s happening all over the ward I want to see a full review of bins across Bamford. We need to demand more for the council tax that increases year on year.
Vote for me and my fellow candidates Siobhain and Zarah on May 5th. Vote for a Lib Dems for a real change.
