I have been living in Castleton for more than 20 years. All my three children attended Mathew Moss High school.
I am passionate to build a safer, cleaner and greener Castleton.
I have a Master's degree in Economics. Working closely with local businesses, I have also raised concerns with Highways about the conditions of the roads and footways in Castleton, which has resulted in most of them being resurfaced or repaired. I have a very firm stance that we should develop our brownfield sites and I am totally against any development on the green belt. I am a strong campaigner for integration and firmly believe in equality, fairness, respect and tolerance. I am proud that Castleton ward and communities living in Castleton always stand together and say no to any hatred and inequality. I want to be a strong and effective voice for the people of Castleton. We are facing a terrible austerity agenda from Tories which started more than 10 years ago. Rising rent, cutting our services, under funding our hospitals and schools, high student debts and no increase in pension are the worst examples of Tory policies.
The gap between the ruling class and working class has widened. As a Labour councillor, I have always stood in Castleton. I want to be a representative for the many not the few.
Therefore for a better future, vote for your 3 Labour Candidates, Aasim Rashid, Aisling Gallagher and Billy Sheerin on the 5th of May 2022 in the Rochdale local election.
