Local Election 2022

Shaun O'Neill

Shaun O'Neill

Labour Party
Healey Ward

Shaun O’Neill is delighted to have been re-selected to stand for Labour in Healey in May 2022.

Shaun was born in Rochdale and attended St. Gabriel’s and Rochdale Technical School. He has lived here all his life (apart from 5 years spent serving in the Royal Engineers in other parts of the world).

He worked for 29 years as a firefighter in Rochdale and has lived with his family in Shawclough for the last 25 years.

Shaun says: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to represent local residents here in Healey, Syke and Shawclough. One of the most satisfying aspects of the job as your local councillor is to listen to your views and concerns and to then take action.

Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big difference.”

This Election year I will be joined by my Labour Party colleagues, Tricia Ayrton and Shah Wazir, in what has come to be known as the "All out Elections 2022"

Which means this year you can vote for all three Labour candidates, in Healey, on a single ballot paper.

Our priorities for Healey, Syke  and Shawclough are:

  • Protect our green spaces including St Wilfrid's Fields and the Coptrod Play Area
  • Encourage and enable recycling measures
  • Reduce fly-tipping
  • Promote road safety
  • Listen to your concerns and continue our weekly surgeries.

Thank you for reading my Election pitch.

Please vote Labour on the 5th May 2022.
