My name is Jo Hezelgrave-Whitworth and I’m proud to be standing as a candidate for South Ward Middleton for Middleton Independents Party.
For the first time in over 20 years, you can select three new councillors to represent your ward on Rochdale Council because all 60 council seats are eligible for re-election – this is your chance to vote for real change, so please take it.
Middleton Independents Party (MIP) are the biggest challenge to the Labour-led council within all Middleton and Hopwood Hall Wards.
We’re positive, we’re strong and we’re passionate.
By electing us as your local councillors, you’ll empower us to be the voice of change and improvement.
We’ll wrap our arms around our great town and move forward to make the much-needed changes.

- fight to protect our Greenbelt from further development
- oppose the clean air charging zones as proposed by current Labour Councillors
- invest in our town, addressing issues such as housing, antisocial behaviour, parking, traffic and fly-tipping
- regenerate our town centre and protect its heritage
- encourage business start-ups and business owners to select our town to be their choice of town to create jobs and opportunities
- nurture and maintain the existing Middleton community, creating sustainable initiatives that keep us all bound together
