Heywood is a unique town and deserves better representation on the Council than that offered by the two other parties. Nationally Labour have betrayed the trust so many gave them a decade ago. The less well off and elderly have been hit by large increases in fuel and food prices whilst Labour have stood on the sidelines like spectators, in government but not in power.

In Rochdale Borough the Lib Dems have imploded, having been rocked by mass resignations and defections to the Conservatives. They are so busy fighting amongst themselves that they have lost touch with the people who elected them. On top off this, they have levied one of the highest Council Tax increases in the North West, again hitting the most vulnerable members of society.

In contrast, the momentum nationally and locally is with the Conservatives. Our manifesto pledges a lower Council Tax than proposed by the other two parties but we will also give a rebate to those 60 and over, without cutting any vital services.

It's time for a change in Heywood, it's time for the Conservatives.
