Local Election 2011

Ann Lynn Metcalfe

Ann Lynn Metcalfe

Conservative Party
Norden Ward

As a lifelong resident of Norden I am both proud and delighted to have been selected once again to stand as your Conservative Candidate.

I am known to most residents of my Ward and, thankfully, many respect and value the achievements and hard work which I have put into being a Councillor since 2004.

I trust the following has brought to you the qualities of a good Ward Councillor and that you will vote for me once again on Thursday 5th May at the local elections.

  • A Councillor with a 7 year record behind her of work in the community.
  • A life-long Ward resident who has local knowledge and knows her constituents.
  • Supports local businesses.
  • Deputy Leader of the Council's Conservative Group.
  • The Council's representative on the Greater Manchester Fire Service Authority.
  • School Governor of two Norden Primary Schools.
  • Values our young people.
  • Pro-active in Ward matters.
  • Approachable, a good listener and responsive.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.

One of the highest compliments I have received in this role comes from the Leader of the Council's Conservative Group, Councillor Ashley Dearnley:

"I am delighted Ann is seeking re-election. She has been a first class Councillor always putting the interests of Norden first. She has been diligent in dealing with local issues which are important to residents to enhance the quality of village life and community spirit."

I would also like to thank my fellow Conservative Councillor, Jim Gartside, for all his assistance throughout the 7 years I have been a Norden Councillor. I have valued greatly his guidance and support throughout that time and look forward to working with him over the next 3 years if you are good enough to return me on 5th May.
