Local Election 2011

Carl Faulkner

Carl Faulkner

Independent
Spotland & Falinge Ward

My pledge is that if elected, I will not claim a penny in councillor allowances.

A councillor is a voluntary position, so why should the tax payer fund someone’s interest in local issues? There are people all over Spotland and Falinge who work very hard in a voluntary capacity. I believe councillors should be no different.

I am standing as an Independent because I believe party politics should be left to those elected to Parliament. Local issues should be left to local people whose passion is their town and not their favoured political party.

In recent times, I have led a successful challenge to stop the council re-building a school on Lenny Barn playing fields and prevented unnecessary double yellow lines being painted outside residential properties in Spotland.

If elected, I promise to support all who act in the best interests of Spotland and our town. The concerns of local residents will be my priority.

Party politics have let us down. Its time for a true independent voice on the council. Someone who will speak out for all of Spotland and Falinge and not be shackled like those who have been elected under a party banner.
