Central Rochdale Ward

Rosemary Jones is a retired primary school SEN teacher who has lived in the borough for over 40 years. She is a very experienced elected member having spent 13 years on Rochdale Council between 1998-2011 where she served in a variety of roles including chairing the corporate parent group and serving on the Greater Manchester waste authority.

Rosemary is extremely active across the Rochdale community; she has been a foster carer for 15 years, the Chair of governors at Brownhill School, Rochdale, she is a Volunteer at Rochdale Foodbank, a Law Centre trustee and is a landlady for the Petrus Spare Room project.

Her priorities for the ward are making road improvements, extending funding for community centres, providing better car parking and cleaning up grot spots. As a keen environmentalist, Rosemary will work hard to increase recycling rates across the ward and the borough which saves money that can be spent on community projects.
