In the late 1980's Peter was offered a senior position with Greater Manchester Fire Service. He chose to move to Heywood in 1988 and quickly became involved in local associations and community groups, as well as continuing his Fire Service career.
Upon leaving the Fire Service, he set up his own Fire Safety Consultancy and engaged in many voluntary projects and events in Heywood. Peter is married to Christine, his wife of 44 years and has children and grandchildren in both Bristol & Heywood.
Peter passionately believes in the good within his town and intends to develop and promote the Heywood at every opportunity he can.
