Tour boat – 7 collection tins now out; a Donations page on canal group web site

 Canal & River Trust

The “Adopt a Canal” Scheme / Canal Watch has now started. 8 volunteers lead by Bob Furnell who has been adopted for the canal between Bridge 47 to 48

Terry Evans (full time employee of C & RT) advised that there are now 41 supporters – 8 of which turned out on Mothers’ Day. He further advised Bob Furnell that authority to use the “work boat” should be forthcoming. Further meetings are being arranged.

JFK said (at the previous meeting) that he will try to identify an officer in the Rochdale MBC who will be our link to the Local authority as the successful Canal Watch Schemes at Hebden Bridge and in Manchester benefitted from strong Local Authority support

Rubbish – Cllr Janet Emsley and an RMBC Officer walked a length of the canal (it is not known which length)
