Minutes of the 151st meeting held 17th October 2017 at Hare Hill House Starting at 7.30pm

Present: Ian Jackson; Julian Farnell; Brian Holden, John F Kay, Bob Weatherley,

Apologies for absence from Cllr Ann Stott, Keith Hallam, Barry Horner

 

Minutes of the last meeting were discussed and used as agenda items for this meeting.

Littleborough Civic Trust

Ian Jackson updated the meeting on the Civic Trust

John Kay as treasurer of Littleborough Civic Trust confirmed that the sum of £1,779.82 was held in the account on behalf of LCDG

Anyone who would like tickets for the Civic Trust trip to Chester Markets on Sunday 3rd December 2017 @ £15.00 each should email John Kay @ jkay@molesworths.co.uk

Canal & River Trust

Ian Jackson informed the meeting that the Tow Path Task Force was now operational. They have completed the stone wall at Lock 48 Ealees which had fallen into disrepair some 25 years ago.

More of their work is now concentrating of the Rochdale Canal

Café Boat Scheme

The mooring application to C&RT, has received approval “in principle”

We will now preparing and submit an application for planning permission from Rochdale MBC

Julian Farnell has been in touch with the planning office who are very supportive. His computer is being mended but once it is returned he will download the forms and complete the same with help from Ian Jackson and John Kay

This will be submitted as soon as it is ready.

Julian Farnell is in touch with the Council to obtain permission to use the warehouse to Schofield Street to renovate and fit out the boat.

There were now several volunteers to help with this work

Akzo Nobel Site

It had been reported that someone has accessed the site to carry out some work. No further information is available

Any Other Business

It was agreed that Bob Weatherley, Ian Jackson and Julian Furnell will attend the Northern (User Group) Forum which will be held on Wednesday 15th November 2017 at the Broadfield Hotel Rochdale.  They will seek clarity about the Mooring Fees which will be payable for the Café Boat in addition to the Business Licence fee of £641.35
