1. Minutes of the last meeting (no 98) approved.

2. Durn Marina.
2.1 JFK scheduled to meet Peter Rowlinson of RMBC within the next 4 weeks.
2.2 No progress on Schofield Street obstruction.

3. Littleborough Volunteer Lengthsman Scheme.
3.1 JFK advised we now have OWLS for the whole length of the canal through Littleborough. He has yet to produce badges and letter of appointment.
3.2 Meeting was of the opinion these items are urgently required especially as the Spring visitor influx will start in the not to distant future.

4. Akzo Site.
4.1 RMBC has sent a letter to the Coal Board and the Developer seeking detailed information relating to the mine workings and where is the water coming from.
4.2 Borough Solicitor and Planning Manager have advised original report was incorrect and a new one would have to be issued.
4.3 Borough Solicitor has confirmed she has not obtained or sought a copy of the Planning Sub-Committee meeting filmed by the BBC. It had been suggested she should obtain a copy.

5. Canal and River Trust.
5.1 No news as to what is happening regarding Summit Lock House.

6. Neighbourhood Forum.
6.1 PE and IG explained what was involved and the area to be covered was basically the old Littleborough Parish. A meeting had taken place with RMBC Planning Department and they were preparing a report which would be presented to Township at the meeting on 5/3. If Township accepted the report it would be necessary for the community to be involved putting forward ideas for the future. A constitution would have to be drawn up.

7. Any Other Business.
7.1 JFK had suggested we should be involved with the Rochdale Canal Festival at the end of July.
Also perhaps a farmers market organised by “Leaf” at which we could have an OWLS stand and perhaps a Marina stand.
The meeting felt connecting the market with canal festival could mean parties losing out due to the distance between the sites.
No details are to hand as to what is proposed for the festival and there is the possibility it would cover the Pennine Run.
It is necessary to find out details prior to deciding a course of action.

8. Next meetings: Tuesdays 19 March, 16 April and 21May. All meetings at 19.30h in the United Reformed Church, Victoria Street, Littleborough.
