Bradley Bridleway Gets A Make-Over

The popular bridleway that extends from Milnrow Memorial Park over Bradley to Newhey is currently being widened and re-surfaced to make it more suitable for dog walkers and horse-riders  to pass each other safely.

For many years dog walkers have cut across the field at the top of Mlnrow Memorial Park to exercise their pets.  However, the land owner has fenced off the field, which has no right of way running through it, diverting dog walkers onto the well used bridleway that runs beind the park's wall at the back of the wooded area.  Concerns that the path was too narrow to accommodate the safe passing of dog walkers and horse riders has led the Council to leap into action and widen the whole path.  This is excellent news for local horse riders who have found the path deteriorating over recent years and will make this popular route more enjoyable and accessible to all.

UPDATE 25 Nov 2017 The bridleway is now finished and looking fantastic, even after all the rain we have had lately the surface is standing up well. Great job by contractor Johnny Cryer.
