Intro
What is Ring and Ride?
Ring and Ride provides door-to-door transport for people who find it very difficult or impossible to get to a bus stop or get on or off ordinary buses. Our buses have low entrance steps and lifts at the back to make it easy for people to get on and off. If you use a wheelchair, the driver will secure your wheelchair safely in the bus or, if you like, help you into a seat. Drivers are fully trained in customer care and disability awareness.
Ring and Ride is designed to provide short local journeys. Because the buses are small, they can reach most homes easily. Remember: Ring and Ride is for people who have difficulty getting about - if you can use ordinary buses please do.
To be eligible to use the service you must:
- hold a Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) Concesssionary Plus Pass or;
- hold a TfGM Concessionary Disabled Person Pass, or;
- be 70 years or over, have mobility issues and hold a TfGM Over 60 Concessionary Pass, or;
- be a TfGM Travel Voucher user
The Ring and Ride service operates seven days a week except public holidays.
Before you book a trip with Ring and Ride, you must be registered as a member.

Booking a trip
You can make short, local journeys for up to 6 miles from your home address to:
- do your shopping
- travel to work, school or college
- attend health appointments
- take part in social and leisure activities
- visit places of worship
Trips can be requested seven days in advance and up to one hour prior to travel by phoning 0161 200 6011 or 0845 688 3989 between 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
Fares
All fares including concessionary fares are set at a subsidised rate. You must show your concessionary pass on each trip to qualify for the concessionary rate.
Animals
Guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance/support dogs travel free of charge. For the comfort and safety of all our passengers, other dogs and pets are not allowed.
