Intro
Birch Radio is the hospital broadcasting organisation that serves Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary and Springhill Hospice. The station was formed in December 1978 and is celebrating 25 years of broadcasting during 2003.
The station is a registered charity and staffed totally by volunteers. More members are always wanted to not only broadcast, but do the important matters like collect requests from the patients and visitors.
During the summer, our Roadshow vehicle can be seen at various events throughout the Borough, and is also available for hire.
Commentary of all Rochdale AFC's games are broadcast, and partially sighted spectators can also hear the commentary free of charge within Spotland Stadium.
