Intro
We are dedicated to developing the sport of model flying and can offer training and encouragement for all. We are always on the look out for new members, both young and old. We like all types of model flight . . . I/C powered (glow, petrol or diesel), electric, glider or helicopters. To help encourage younger/at school members we do not charge juniors any club fees, and insurance/BMFA fees are reduced.
During 2000 we had two club trips the first to Barton airdrome with a guided tour through all the buildings. The second was to the Police Air Support unit, to see their helicopter at close quarters, both of which were free to members. We did one display for the Crime Prevention Unit that was warmly received by those there. We are affiliated to the BMFA (British Model Flying Association) which has over 36,000 members and 780 clubs.
Other local clubs in this area are at Ashton, Bury, Oldham, Prestwich and Blackburn, there are however many others.
