Rochdale Township in Bloom

Home

The 'Township in Bloom' competition is an annual event in which Rochdale Township compete against others including local challengers, Bury and Heywood, to showcase their horticultural achievements.  The Competition is not just about what the local council can do, but looks instead for community-lead projects that show the pride that many businesses and residents have in their local areas.

Rochdale's 2011 entry has been developed by community figures from all over the township including representatives from schools, businesses, community groups and other organisations.  All had one thing in mind, let's show the judges the very best of Rochdale Township.

This years route will take judges to visit Castleton, Springfield Park, Broadfield Park, Spotland / Spod Valley and Norden, amongst others.  Along the way judges will meet members of the public, school children, business people and local residents who will each demonstrate how they are working to make their areas of Rochdale Township a little greener and more pleasant.

The 'In Bloom' team are presently looking for support from people within the Rochdale Township area who may be able to offer their support to this years' bid.  You may be able to help with a planting project or a local clean-up, you may be able to make a donation of materials or plants to a project, or you may simply have photos or stories about your own local project.  However you feel you can help we would love to hear from you.

You can contact the Rochdale Township in Bloom team by emailing info@rochdaleinbloom.co.uk.
