Rotary Club of Middleton

More about what we do

Most Middletonians know the Middleton Rotary Club for our Christmas activities and fund-raising tour of the community with Santa. http://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/page.php?PgID=338952&ClubID=304

All the proceeds from this go to help local community groups. These range from local scout groups to girl’s football teams and youth organisations.

We also have an extensive international presence support remote villages in Kenya with clean water and irrigation projects http://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/page.php?PgID=545110&ClubID=304 and support for Mikoroshoni school http://www.rochdaleonline.co.uk/sites/friends-of-mikoroshoni-primary-school

Since 1985 we have worked with other Rotary clubs throughout the world tackling polio. In that time we have managed to reduce the incidence of polio from around 350,000 cases per year to just 72 cases in 2015 – and they were in very remote areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. We are very hopeful that 2016 will see the last case of polio anywhere in the world.

We are meeting via Zoom on Monday nights, to join us contact Stuart or Janice Sawle for more information: Stuart@sysop.co.uk or janice@sysop.co.uk

You would be made very welcome.
