Rotary Christmas Float 2019
The Rotary Club of Middleton's Annual Christmas Float tour of Middleton starts on Wednesday 4 December - Friday 20 December 2019, bringing Father Christmas to the children of Middleton and raising funds for Middleton good causes.
Rotarian Keith Trinnaman, coordinator for the Christmas float said: “This a very rewarding time of the year for the club, it is wonderful to see the excited faces when Father Christmas visits and the public of Middleton look forward so much to this event which the club has been putting on for over 50 years now.
“The generosity of the Middleton people always amazes us, and we love to be able to plough these funds back into local groups and needy causes.
“Last year, thanks to the generosity of residents, the club raised over £6000 whilst out collecting with the Christmas Float. The money collected has:
- Helped build a Community Garden
- Bought new equipment for uniformed groups
- Helped establish new green areas in our town
- Provided free musical instrument hire for local children
- Provided children’s life education classes
- Help to fund local children's football coaching
- Funded children’s martial arts coaching
- Helped local dancers in competition
All routes are scheduled to start at 7pm and must end at 9pm. Dates and routes are subject to change without notice. This could be due to poor weather, equipment failure, too few volunteers etc.
