Mission Statement
The Sanctuary Trust is a practical expression of God's love, providing support and encouragement for people who are homeless or seeking to take control of their lives after drug, alcohol or other, homeless-related problems.'
We run a 13-bedded Men's hostel on Tweedale Street and have opened an overnight shelter for 16 and 17 year olds called the Sanctuary Night Stop located in Deeplish. >
Many young people in the borough of Rochdale are unable, for a variety of reasons, to engage with, or live as part of their family. The repercussions, for a lot of young people are serious. Being homeless at a young age is detrimental to future abilities to form trusting relationships, develop life skills or have their personal trauma addressed. Cycles of behavior are set in place; it is essential to focus on the casualties in order to break the cycle.
