The Probus Club of Middleton

Intro

Middleton Probus Club are seeking new members. We are a group of retired professional and business people, where men and women meet fortnightly (second and fourth Monday of each month at 10am).

Probus stands for The Association of Professional and Business Personnel and not poor Retired Old Boys Unfit for Service as some would have you believe. There are similar clubs all over the country and much further field. Many are offshoots from Rotary Clubs, indeed the Middleton Club is an offshoot of the Middleton Rotary Club, being formed in 1977.

We enjoy lectures and talks about various subjects. Recently we have been entertained by talks bout 'The History of Punch and Judy' and worked with a cartoonist; 'Voyaging with Shackleton' and a salacious talk on the interesting life of Winston Churchill's mum.

Any one interested in joining our club please contact the club secretary David Ratchford by telephone on 0161 643 1365 or by email dratchford@btinternet.com for further details.
