Interested in Volunteering?

We help to provide support at a local level for people who are interested in volunteering.

Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds contact the Volunteer Centre and we help you find a suitable role where you can use your skills and experience or even gain new ones!

We offer people interested in volunteering an informal interview to find out what you would like to do, we then match you up to a relative opportunity and liaise with the organisation until your volunteering opportunity is secured

What is a volunteer? A ‘volunteer’ is defined as someone who commits time and energy for the benefit of others, and who does so freely, through personal choice, and without expectation of financial reward, except for the payment of actual out of pocket expenses.

How can I become a volunteer?
Contact the Volunteer Centre Rochdale Borough and we will arrange for you to come in and have a chat with an advisor, they will talk to you about any skills you have to offer and help to find the right voluntary opportunity for you.

Why should I volunteer?
People volunteer for lots of reasons. If you are interested in doing something positive for both yourself and your community, volunteering will help you to:
• Improve your self confidence
• Gain new skills and experiences
• Benefit from training opportunities
• Gain references for future employers
• Improve your employment prospects
• Make new friends
